Microsoft's Vista Release Strategy

Well, with the advent of the new "Windows" operation system on the horizon, Vista will be rolled out with many more options. The days of just a "Home" or "Professional" version will now be joined with further options!

In addition to the traditional Home and Pro versions, look out for these new "pre-configurations":

• Windows Vista Home Basic
• Windows Vista Home Premium
• Windows Vista Business
• Windows Vista Enterprise
• Windows Vista Ultimate
• Windows Vista Starter

It will be interesting to see if Microsoft will offer consumers an inexpensive way to get bare-bones functionality with Home Basic, or if Microsoft will just leverage the entry-level version to boost up their prices for the whole lineup.
